FOUNDER
Lara Benusis is a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor with
over
15,000 hours of experience teaching yoga. She brings to each
of her classes and workshops a background in education, movement
analysis and curriculum development as well as a true passion
for teaching yoga.
While performing as a professional
dancer she obtained certifications in Kripalu Yoga, Ashtanga
with David Swenson, Pilates Mat with Kelly Kane, Level 1 & Level
2, Teacher Trainings, Master Immersions, theraputics and
hands-on assisting with John Friend in the Anusara tradition.
She appears in videos: Gaiam’s “Cardio Burn Yoga” and John
Friend’s “The Basics of Teacher Training.” She has assisted
over 30 workshops at The Kripalu Center, Yoga Journal and
Omega Conferences.
She has taught, consulted and
trained a wide range of professional and amateur athletes
and dancers as well as a diverse group of corporate and academic
clientele, including NYU’s Stern Business School, School
of Dentistry, School of Law, Pfizer, Oxygen Media, Martha
Stewart Inc and Nickelodeon. In 2001, after two years of
teaching in The New York Public School System, she created
and designed the current yoga program at The Children’s Aid
Society, including Mommy and Baby, toddlers, and pre-teen
schedules. Lara is currently also on staff at Memorial Sloan
Kettering’s The Bendheim Integrative Medicine Center, Equinox,
Dance New Amsterdam, Pure Yoga, Amy Marshall's Dance company
and is the founder of Namasteens. |
